Full Job Description
Area Cleaning Manager covering the York and surrounding areas
- Candidates must be able to drive. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided (25+ for insurance purposes) alongside a company mobile phone
- Experience in the cleaning/facilities management field and supervisory experience
- 35hrs per week at a salary of £20,000
Duties to include
- Supervision and recruitment of a team of cleaners – being the primary point of ‘in the field’ contact for a number of sites, arranging holiday and absence cover, interviewing and training team members
- Customer facing – meeting and greeting both new and existing clients, delivering stock, handling any issues raised in a timely manner
- Admin – including performing risk assessments, site inspections and CQC/medical audits, and liaising with the office team (payroll/accounting/customer service departments)
- Driving and time planning – some local knowledge would be of use due to the nature of York City Centre and vehicular access/parking limitations
Hierarchical
- The post holder will report directly to the Managing Director as part of the York Area Management team
- We are succession planning so there is scope for further improvement on this position in the future
REPORTS TO: Management
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
- Customer care and site management.
- To manage the site clean and to cover the cleaning of others to a high standard.
- Recruitment and basic disciplinary matters.
- Maintaining stock levels and site communication.
MAIN DUTIES:
Following appropriate training, cleaning domestic and commercial premises to high standards in accordance with BICSc method statements.
This may involve some or all of the below:
- Lifting or moving heavy equipment such as buffers or vacuum cleaners.
- Driving from location to location, accessing the clients premises, cleaning and securing the clients premises
- Recruitment of staff as required
- Maintenance of sites and staff
- Management of sites and staff
- Carrying heavy equipment up and down stairs or from room to room
- Carrying heavy filled refuse sacks to disposal areas which may be outside the building being cleaned
- Stretching to reach high areas
- Bending to access low areas
- Handling toxic products after being provided with appropriate PPE
- Self Starting, self motivation, self organisation
- Working alone
